Where

We are getting married on the Outer Banks of North Carolina! We are having the ceremony on the beach and the reception at Rendezvous, a house we have rented for the week.

The house is located in Corolla, in Currituck County on the northern part of the Outer Banks. Some information about the area:

Based upon the location of the wedding and the proximity to local hotels, the most convenient option for accommodations would be to rent another home in the area. If you get together as a group to rent the home this is also the most cost-effective solution. If you are interested in renting a home for the time you are down there, but don’t already have a group established that is large enough to fill a house give either Ryan or Caroline a call and we can help get you in touch with other people who are also looking to rent a home. If you already have a group you are looking to rent with you can contact the rental agency that we used for the wedding home, Twiddy, they have a lot of other homes available in the area. The neighborhood that the house is in is Pine Island, the Ocean Sands and Ocean Lake neighborhoods are the next closest if you are looking for more options. The houses in the Ocean Sands and Ocean Lake are also not as expensive.

To get to the Outer Banks, if you are not driving, there are two different airports you can fly into. Norfolk Airport in Norfolk, VA is the closest airport. It is about a 2 hour drive to get to Corolla. There are rental cars available at the airport or you can arrange for a transportation service to come get you at the airport and drive you out. Newport News airport in Williamsburg, VA is a little bit further of a drive, it takes about 2 and a half hours, but it is a larger airport and jets fly there, as opposed to Norfolk which has smaller planes fly in. It also tends to have cheaper rental cars.
